Dionysus and his Female Companion
This is a pair of Romanticism Grand Tour busts.
These busts were created after the antique by Leone Clerici from Rome in Italy in 1882.Clerici’s main work was the reproduction of famous antique sculptures, working from his studio in Rome, his work was in great demand.
Both marble busts are made of the highest quality. The handsome Dionisus is god of wine & entertainment, he is depicted with grape vines in his hair, after the original in the Vatican collection, his female companion was a later addition.
