Veiled Lady in Carrara Marble
This is a bust after the antique by Raphael Monti (1818 – 1881) and was created in 1875 it is also known as “The Bride” The original sculpture is in Chatsworth house today.
Raphael Monti lived and worked in England in 1850 and this famous sculpture commissioned by the Duke of Devonshire is how Raphael made his name.
This is a stunning sculpture that can take center stage in your home. It is one of the most iconic sculptures to be found and is finished to the highest standard. Each sculpture is hand finished and the base contains an embedded coin.
The marble sculpture itself depicts a veiled lady or bride with a veil covering her face (the face is clearly visible) with a ring of flowers on her head.
